Car parts sit next to a tree missing chunks of bark early Sunday morning Jan,
26, 2003, in Sag Harbor, N.Y. at the scene where singer Billy Joel's car swerved
off the road Saturday. Joel was taken by ambulance to East Hampton Airport and
then airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

Singer Billy Joel was released from the hospital early yesterday morning,
where he stayed overnight after losing control of his car and swerving into a
tree.
